DIG: An Imagined Archeo-logism is an evolving body of work; a faux archeological site. It is a multidisciplinary project which incorporates ceramic sculpture, sound, music, and participatory relic workshops for members of the public.
History is built with skulls, bones and hearts, representing the many forms of human interaction. The intention of this project is to challenge how we see and hear and what we think we know.
It is about revelation. The sculptures present alternative meaning and evolution for two myths: MEDUSA and DAEDALUS & ICARUS.
I imagine what the truth of these mythic stories might have been and then sculpt them into reality.
